Uji Efektivitas Zat Antibakteri Ekstrak Daun Jambu Biji Lokal (Psidium guajava L) terhadap Pertumbuhan Bakteri Penyebab Diare secara In Vitro

Jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat yang banyak dimanfaatkan dalam pengobatan tradisional. Beberapa penelitian yang telah dilakukan membuktikan bahwa   daun jambu biji mengandung beberapa senyawa fitokimia yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mencegah dan mengobati suatu penyakit, karena sifat daun jambu biji sebagai antioksidan, antidiare dan anti- DBD (Demam Berdarah Dengue). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh zat antibakteri ekstrak daun jambu biji lokal dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri penyebab diare (Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteriditis) secara in vitro dan untuk mengetahui nilai MIC untuk setiap bakteri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan 7 perlakuan. pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah analisis varian (ANOVA). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Dari hasil penelitian diketahui  perlakuan yang menghasilkan jumlah diameter zona hambat terbesar pada ekstrak etanol daun jambu biji lokal terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli adalah perlakuan pada konsentrasi 50 mg/ml dengan rata-rata diameter   19,1 mm, sedangkan perlakuan yang menghasilkan jumlah diameter zona hambat terbesar pada ekstrak etanol daun jambu biji lokal terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella enteriditis adalah perlakuan pada konsentrasi 60 mg/ml dengan rata-rata diameter 18,1 mm. nilai MIC untuk kedua bakteri ada pada konsentrasi 10 mg/ml
